Osamu Tezuka, known for his love of classical music and his skill as a piano player, did not mention musicians or music methods in this story. Instead, he stuck to two main themes: the romantic relationship of youth and the struggle of patriots for their homeland. By intertwining these elements throughout the narrative, Tezuka created an atmosphere that balances hopeful light tones with darker, sadder moments that occasionally emerge.
The story begins with a musical-like opening scene and features a cross-dressing heroine, which may evoke images of Princess Knight. It also includes a cameo of a comical duo and several piano-playing scenes with musical notes dancing on the pages. It’s definitely a work full of Tezuka's signature style that will surely excite Tezuka fans. Additionally, Tezuka crafted tragic fates for each character without mercy, resulting in a dramatic ending. After the serialization of this work, Tezuka concluded his involvement in girls' manga following the publication of "Unico" in 1976.
