This is a sequel to the TV animation series that ended in 1966 mainly for adult readers who appreciate satire.
It is believed that Astro died after diving into the Sun with a nuclear inhibitor. But Dr. Ochanomizu, who cannot accept the fact, anxiously awaits any sign from Astro Boy. Soon, he receives a signal indicating Astro is alive, saved by someone far away from Earth. But he says he cannot return to Earth. At that moment, Dr. Ochanomizu receives a call from the Prime Minister. The PM suggests making a replacement for, Astro, Astro the 2nd.
