The Merchant of Venice

STORY
This work is a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's “The Merchant of Venice” by Tezuka. Antonio, who owns a shipping company, becomes a guarantor for his friend, Vassanio, who has borrowed money from a crooked dealer, Shairock. Three months later, Antonio has almost his chest cut at court because the debt is not paid by the due date. However, he is saved by Vassanio’s girlfriend.
