From his early appearance in "The Secret of Shari River", the character who seemingly appeared as an afterthought was this noisy mad scientist, the unmanageable child who reveled in creating a commotion. He was a crooked character, but one who tended to be so agreeably rather than atrociously; to give a modern Hollywood analogy, his was the personality of Danny De Vito in "Junior". The long lasting nature of his career, which covered appearances in "Astro Boy" through "Don Dracula", surely came about because of this lovable side to his character.
