Dr. Ochanomizu

Dr. Ochanomizu appears as Atom's scientific guardian in the "Astro Boy" series. His big nose is rumored to have been a slip of the pen and so on... He has given numerous illustrious performances in his role as Atom's protector and surrogate father in the Atom series. He is famous as being the teacher who explained to Atom that he had a human heart and teaching him the meaning of justice. He is scatterbrained, easily moved to tears and good-natured, his character resembling that of the science genius in Hollywood movies, in that he is quick to be stolen (he is frequently abducted) and mal-treated whilst creating many, many great inventions. He is a bit like the mad-professors in "Flubber" and "Back to the Future".
