Melon Kid, a wanted man, appears in Doge City at the end of the year, following his long-standing opponent, Jack Bed. The atmosphere in the city is tense and on the verge of breaking. Also, there seems to be a long, complicated story between Lemon, the sheriff of the city, and Melon Kid. Lemon says to Kid, “Just leave the city by sunset”, but Kid laughs it off.
Melon Kid goes for Jack Bed, and Lemon tries to stop him – sunset is approaching with a foreboding premonition of tragedy.
