She was an early star in Tezuka Osamu's Manga specializing in young girl roles. And although this was the era when Mitchy monopolized the role of the pretty young girl in the world of Tezuka Osamu's Manga, the appearances of Riiko gave this type of role a more exuberant range of expression. Mitchy was the first character to demonstrate that she wasn't just cute, that she had an actress's disposition, and so it was up to Riiko to take on the role of "purely pretty girls".
