STORY

This collection contains essays by Tezuka Osamu on movies, the theater, and music. Tezuka Osamu produced his immense volume of work as a result of constant exposure to all of these things as a child, and then fully taking in what he had seen. Tezuka Osamu had nothing but high praise for "Planet of the Apes," and presented here are Tezuka Osamu's comments on what a continuing-series Tezuka Osamu-style "Planet of the Apes" would be like-a piece sure to be of interest to Manga as well as movie fans. Other pieces, such as those describing the similarities between the themes of Spielberg's "Close Encounters" and Tezuka Osamu's "The Phoenix," should provide insight to inexperienced movie critics. The pieces on Mozart and Brahms may also serve as a useful introduction to people of younger generations who find classical music too lofty to grasp.
