STORY

This collection consists of spirited essays on Manga. Particularly noteworthy is a very interesting piece on the process of the development of the character of "Atom," who is a robot character imbued with human kindness, as well as pieces bound to be of interest to aspiring Manga artists, including a description of the way in which Tezuka Osamu's Manga were created (entailing a process including idea development, scenario building, casting, and more-just like that involved in shaping a movie or performance). Also well worth reading are sections on "the future of Tezuka Osamu's Manga" that he wrote in response to early criticism against his "The Vampires" series. And of great interest to Manga fans are the portions of the text on "Norakuro" and fellow Manga artists including Yokoyama Mitsuteru, Matsumoto Reiji, Ohtomo Katsuhiro, and more.
