“Draw!” Manga Exhibition -Drawing Manga!-Lines,Panels,Kyara is held at Kitakyushu Manga Museum.

Period: November 21, 2015 – January 24, 2016

 

Venue: Kitakyuhu Manga Museum
(2-14-5 Asano, Kokura-kita, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka)

 

Hours: 11:00-19:00 (last admission: 18:30)
Closed on Tuesdays (except Dec. 29 and Jan. 5), winter holidays (from Dec. 31 to Jan. 2)

Fujio Akatsuka, Shotaro Ishinomori, Tezuka Osamu, Fujio Fujiko, Hideko Mizuno, Kiyohiko Azuma, Takao Saito, Kazuhiko Shimamoto, Keiko Takemiya, Kota Hirano, PEACH-PIT, A-ko Mutsu, Daijiro Morohoshi

 

Admission fee:

Adult 600 yen (800 yen with ticket for permanent exhibition)

Junior high/High school student 300 yen (400 yen with thicket for permanent exhibition)

Elementary school student 150 yen (200 yen with ticket for permanent exhibition)

*20% discount for members of a group with 30 people or more

*Free admission for person with physically disabled certificate and his/her career (1).

*A part of exhibits are replaced with new exhibits on December 22.

 

Contents:

Focusing on the essential elements of manga: drawing, showing, and enjoying, the exhibition introduces sophisticated drawing skills and time backgrounds of respective mang artists. The audience will find out the possibility of manga as a form of culture which has developed since the postwar years.

 

 

Part 1: All dreams were created on paper just with pen.

In this part, precious works by manga giants in his/her early days were introduced.

 

Fujio Akatsuka, Shotaro Ishinomori,Tezuka Osamu, Fujio Fujiko (A), Hideko Mizuno

 

 

Part 2: The drawing skills of manga masters

In this part, works by today’s top eight manga artists are displayed and theirs unique drawing skills are introduced on the panels.

 

Kiyohiko Azuma, Takao Saito, Kazuhiko Shimamoto, Keiko Takemiya, Kota Hirano, PEACH-PIT, A-ko Mutsu Daijiro Mrohoshi

 

 

Part 3: Drawing in future

In this part, various manga drawing tools, from conventional to state-of-art digital tools, are introduced.
