The Musical: Rainbow Prelude is coming soon, and here we have an interview with Masataka Nakagochi who acts a role of Joseph!
Q. So far you have participated in some plays based on manga works as well as musicals How do you play the role this time?
A. Well, whether it’s a musical or straight play, I have the same attitude toward the role I play. I try to deepen my understanding for the role considering the overall balance of the work. This time, music, life and love are the theme for this role.
Q. What do you particularly care about when you act a character in a musical based on manga?
A. I mind about not hurting the image of the character that fans of the original manga work have. I am also a dancer, so I think I am pretty good at embodying actions and gestures (in the original manga work).
Q. What do you think about Joseph? Do you find anything similar to you in his character?
A. I think Joseph participated in Resistance to reserve wonderful arts and talents in Poland because he really loved music. His straight and sympathetic attitude to others might be close to my own character.
Thank you very much.
Next time we will have an interview with Seijiro Nakamura, who acts the role of Frederic.
