The Musical: Rainbow Prelude performed from October 2 till October 5 was end on a high note. Here is an interview with Ms. Erika Ikuta, a member of Nogisaka 46. She acted a main role of Luise in the musical.
Q. This is the first musical you act a main role. How did you feel about it?
A. I have longed to be a theatrical performer, so I was very excited. Especially, Rainbow Prelude is a story about music which I have been engaged in since I was small. Actually I was surprised that I could get a chance to play the lead at the early stage of my career. I know I lack experience but would like to do my best with all my energy.
Q. You play both a boy and a girl. Do you pay any attention when you act those two different genders?
A. When I act as a boy, I pay attention to my tone of voice and standing posture so that I look like a boy. But I also try to show an aspect of a girl little bit. When I act as a girl, I try to shift clearly from a boy to a girl.
Q. What is Luise for you? Do you find any thing common with Luise? Do you have any sympathy for her?
A. She is a strong woman with a strong belief. She pretends to be a man and risks her own life. So I try to act carefully in the scenes she overcomes difficulties one by one. But Luise is also an ordinary girl who can not make a quick decision. I feel empathy for such her attitude.
Thank you very much.
