President of Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd.
Born in 1944 and graduated from Chuo University in 1967.
After joining several companies, he entered Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha and became an editor in charge of Tezuka. Then he entered Tezuka Productions as his manager in 1973, and worked for him for 16 years. He was also engaged in production of various Tezuka animation works.
In April 1985, he was appointed to President of Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd.
In May 2003, He was appointed to President of Association of Japanese Animations and served 6 years term.
In 2010, he was appointed to CEO of Visual Industry Promotion Organization.
Taking over Tezuka’s will, Matsutani is engaged in various activities in order to disseminate Japanese anime and manga to the world.
