The 62nd and 63rd exhibitions held on the 20th anniversary of Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum were announced. The details of each exhibition will be informed later.
The 62nd Exhibition: TezukaOtomeito
Period: July 4, 2014 – October 27, 2014 Closed on Wednesday (except July 23, 30 and Wednesday in August)
Takarazuka has been known as a city of Takarazuka Revue, and Tezuka inspired by the revue very much created his first girl’s comic “Princess Knight”. The title attracted young girls then with its romantic story and movie-like expression methods.
On the other hand, today’s girls like video games called “Otomate”. Such games have attractive stories and characters which young girls can reflect themselves on, and evolved as a popular game genre among others.
Now the exhibition “TezukaOtomate” focuses on the collaborative works with Otomate, exploring the new world nobody has ever seen.
The 63rd Exhibition: Kiyoshiro Imawano
Period: October 31, 2014 – February Closed on Wednesday (except February 11, 2015) , from December 29 till December 31, 2014
Osamu Tezuka, known as “God of Manga”, created works about the dignity of life through his life, and Kiyoshiro Imawano, named as “King of Rock” kept singing about love and peace. Though the two giants never met directly, both pursued to express the same message in their work. The exhibition: Kiyoshiro Imawano is planned and produced by Rumiko Tezuka, the eldest daughter of Tezuka. So far she has been involved in producing various collaborative events with Tezuka woroks and music. Visitors will find the spirit of Tezuka embedded in the world of Kiyoshiro Imawano at the exhibition.
