On July 4, “The parade to promote the activity for the creation of a bright society”, operated by Shinjuku-ward, was safely held.
Hiroko Nakayama, the mayor of Shinjuku, is the chairperson of “the activity for the creation of a bright society” in Shinjuku. The mayor and Astro boy who was appointed to the one-day chair participated in the parade and took a picture together.
On the day, a total of 35 groups of 800 people, including a variety of groups including Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Cavalry, Nishi-toyama Baton Twirling team, Tenjin Elementary School Drum and Fife Band, Ichigaya-Elementary School Brass Band participated in the parade.
“The activity for the creation of a bright society” which aims to prevent crimes and juvenile delinquencies, deepen understanding toward reclamation of criminals, and create the society without crimes, marks the 60th year this year. In Shinjuku, July and August are set as the PR months for such activities, and the PR parade is held every year.
