Explanation

  •
  • Marukubi Boon is a hardboiled, die-hard character who was modeled on the great French actor Lino Ventura, known for his roles in the films "Les Aventuriers" and "Touchez Pas Au Grisbi". Although he debuted in "Astro Boy: Robot Bomb", the character is not simply a villain, and he continued to portray a bungling human with a hopeless destiny who was forced to look at the dark sides of human nature. In order to portray a ham-fisted human though, he was required to have resourceful talents as an actor. Marukubi Boon, who had all the makings of a great actor, was not to be outclassed by his archetype, Lino Ventura. Characters like this remind us once again that the Manga of Tezuka Osamu is in fact supported by a host of highly talented performers.
